Trekking Tours

Routes where the road ends and the trail begins: mountain lakes, high passes and nights under canvas.

About Trekking Tours

Trekking is a journey on foot with nights spent in the mountains. On these routes you reach places a vehicle can't: lakes at the head of a gorge, plateaus overlooking the surrounding peaks, valleys where you might not meet anyone all day except shepherds.

Donkeys carry the equipment and supplies, and we set up camp and cook — so you only need to carry a small daypack with your personal essentials. You sleep in tents, usually by the water, and meals are cooked on stoves or over a fire.

These routes don't usually require special training, but you do need reasonable fitness: the trails are rocky, the climbs can be long, and a full day on your feet feels different from a walk around town.

The difficulty of each tour is listed on its page — some routes suit people heading into the mountains for the first time. On most trekking routes there's no phone signal.
